This past weekend the Kings League<\/strong> premiered on television<\/a>. After a first season where it has only been possible to follow it through different Internet platforms<\/a>, the competition created by Gerard Piqu\u00e9<\/strong> made the leap to conventional television, the one you probably have in your living room with several channels tuned.<\/p>\n\n\n

The figures published here spoke for themselves: it had achieved a 3.5% share with 382,000 viewers<\/strong>. These were not good figures, given that it was the fifth most watched channel in that time slot, far behind the first three, and somewhat closer to the fourth. However, the question is: can the Kings League be considered a failure?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As commented in the ratings post<\/a> the other day, perhaps it is daring to consider Kings League a “failure”<\/strong> on conventional television. That it has not worked is clear, there is no doubt about that, but the reality also speaks for itself: Cuatro, the channel where the competition is broadcasted, was also the fifth most watched channel of the day<\/strong> during the previous weekends. Therefore, its position in the ranking remains unchanged, although with the difference of obtaining slightly higher numbers in the run-up to the Kings League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
