If a few years ago he won the second prize with <strong>&#8220;Pain and Glory,&#8221;<\/strong> this time he has delighted everyone with a half-hour short film starring <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/the-last-of-us-game-of-thrones-secret-pedro-pascal-hbo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pedro Pascal<\/a> and Ethan Hawke: <strong>&#8220;Strange Way of Life.&#8221;<\/strong> Shot in English and very different from his usual style, the filmmaker has managed to move a captivated audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"STRANGE WAY OF LIFE (2023) Official Trailer [HD] Pedro Almod\u00f3var, Ethan Hawke, Pedro Pascal\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qjeurH1r7a4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For over a minute, the applause of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/johnny-depp-is-crowned-at-the-cannes-festival-despite-the-controversies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cannes Film Festival<\/a> audience<\/strong> could be heard, as they gave a standing ovation to the short film for all that it represents: from its perspective on homosexuality in a western, something that had only been done before in &#8220;Brokeback Mountain&#8221; and in a very different way, to the spectacular performances by Pedro Pascal and Ethan Hawke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, Ethan Hawke was present at the film&#8217;s presentation alongside Pedro Almod\u00f3var, and he made it clear that <strong>he is very proud of the work he has done with the Spanish director<\/strong>. Between tragedy, comedy, and romance, the film has become a major milestone at the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, <strong>it has paved the way for Pedro Almod\u00f3var to start filming in English<\/strong>. He had previously done so with another short film starring Tilda Swinton, but now it seems like the right time for the Spanish director to venture into an English-language feature film and conquer the American market.
