Ray Stevenson, the Irish actor who gained recognition for his role as one of the main characters in HBO's series rome, has passed away at the age of 58. As reported by Variety, he died in Italy just days before his birthday, as his anniversary falls on May 25. Beyond his role as Titus Pullo in rome, Stevenson had a long cinematic career. In the Thor movies, he portrayed Volstagg, and he also played Frank Castle (The Punisher) in Punisher: War Zone and Porthos in the 2011 adaptation of The Three Musketeers. Other notable roles include Marcus in the Divergent series and Edward Teach (Blackbeard) in the acclaimed series Black Sails. He even had a character, Isaak Sirko, in Dexter.<\/p>

Recently, he had returned to the forefront of the industry with his appearance in RRR, an Indian film directed by S. S. Rajamouli who achieved great international success and received an Oscar nomination. But the most anticipated role for Stevenson was his appearance in the Star Wars series: Ahsoka, which will premiere on August 31 on Disney Plus. In Ahsoka, Stevenson will portray the Sith character Baylan Skoll.<\/p>

Despite not being one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation, Stevenson was a recurring supporting actor and a villain of great charisma.
