Since its launch, the app has not stopped evolving, offering a wide variety of useful features that are not only intended to protect users, but also add more functionality during conversations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company has recently added Chat Lock, and has also partnered with Truecaller to prevent spam calls. <strong>And now it appears to be working on a new feature that could really change the way users connect with each other<\/strong> by implementing usernames in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/WhatsApp-sin-numero-de-telefono.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-290949\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A perfect privacy layer to avoid giving out your phone number<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new feature has been discovered by WABetaInfo, being found in the latest beta of the app, version 2.23.11.15<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/google-play-store.en.softonic.com\/android?ex=DINS-635.1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> currently available on Google Play Store.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the website reports, although the ability to create a username was discovered, it is not yet accessible, and is something that is currently under development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Presumably, usernames will add another layer of privacy for those using the service, <strong>giving users the option to share a phone number or their username.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As seen in the screenshot of the feature,<strong> the username would be unique, making it a perfect way to share or receive someone&#8217;s contact information.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">?
