The AI revolution<\/a> continues and now comes a new contender. A few days ago, the Chinese megacompany Alibaba<\/strong> officially launched its new artificial intelligence. According to CNBC<\/a><\/strong>, the new artificial language model is called Tongyi Qianwen<\/strong> and in the future will be integrated into a new digital assistant called Tingwu<\/strong>. With artificial intelligence, this chatbot will be capable of everything from analyzing multimedia content<\/strong> to generating a text summary from video and audio, Alibaba says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tongyi Tingwu can already be tested publicly<\/strong>, and its first integration will be in DingTalk<\/strong>, a messaging service for companies that is managed by Alibaba. Although its functions are “basic” at the moment, Alibaba says it will update the AI by the end of the year to add more features, such as real-time translation between English and Chinese<\/strong> in multimedia content. In addition, the service will come to the Google Chrome browser in the form of an extension<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We live in an era where an increasing amount of video and audio content is consumed in various formats every day,” Jingren Zhou<\/strong>, CTO of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, said in a statement. “In line with this, Tongyi Tingwu aims to use the large language model to facilitate faster and better understanding and easier sharing of multimedia content.”<\/p>\n\n\n

The tech giant would be the latest major company to launch its own AI. Other major companies with their own AIs include Google<\/strong>, which recently launched Bard<\/strong> for everyone, with no waiting list<\/a>; Meta<\/strong>, which presented its LLaMA AI<\/strong> a few months ago<\/a>; and Microsoft<\/strong>, which months after investing more than $10 billion in OpenAI, ended up integrating GPT-4<\/strong> into its new Bing<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
