However, anyone who thinks that adapting Zelda to film is easy is very wrong, even if it <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/movie-animation-zelda-original\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">has been tried before.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To prevent Universal from running up against an almost impossible adaptation, <\/strong>we leave you with five key points to keep in mind when making this film. They could also go for something more traditional, taking into account their first games, or <strong>even try the current world of <a href=\"https:\/\/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild.en.softonic.com\/nintendo-switch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Breath of the Wild<\/a><\/strong> -spoiler: it goes wrong-. Since we take the controls we can choose which path to follow, and that is something that has always marked the titles of the franchise.<strong> But how can this be adapted?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Far from a<strong> Black Mirror: Bandersnatch-like<\/strong> experiment, perhaps it&#8217;s all in the aesthetics. <strong>Open landscapes, Studio Ghibli-esque bucolic landscapes and small stories <\/strong>intertwined in a main plot can make The Legend of Zelda movie minimally faithful to the spirit of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gamespot.com\/a\/uploads\/scale_landscape\/1816\/18167535\/4136084-zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom-epona-guide-.jpg\" alt=\"Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom - How To Get Epona - GameSpot\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3 &#8211; Will Link talk?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Link, the protagonist of each <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/the-3-things-we-liked-most-about-tears-of-the-kingdom-and-the-three-we-liked-least\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zelda<\/a><\/strong>, <strong>has as a special feature that he does not speak<\/strong>. However, this is more something for the player -again, freedom: Link&#8217;s words are the user&#8217;s own- than for the story. So yes; to make a good movie, the protagonist will have to speak, as Mario did in his movie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, <strong>this means giving the character a personality<\/strong>. As much as we have played a lot with Link, he doesn&#8217;t have a very defined way of being, and this is essential. If he&#8217;s too much of a hero, he&#8217;ll lose his faery essence. If he&#8217;s too goofy, he won&#8217;t be taken seriously. In the balance will be the magic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.denofgeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Leged-of-Zelda-Link.jpg\" alt=\"The Legend of Zelda: Why Link Never Speaks | Den of Geek\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4 &#8211; Zelda&#8217;s role: not a princess in trouble<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Another more than necessary point to discuss is <strong>Zelda&#8217;s relevance in the movie. <\/strong>Although in the games she doesn&#8217;t appear as much as the protagonist, her evolution in most of them is incredible, and she is clearly not the princess in distress as she was originally conceived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus, they will have to play well with the character and know what role to make her take. Perhaps, like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/peaches-peaches-peaches-song-jack-black-oscar-bowser\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Peach<\/a><\/strong>, <strong>they will have to exploit her warrior side<\/strong>\u2026 but Zelda&#8217;s magic lies in much more than that. That&#8217;s why, in the movie, it wouldn&#8217;t make sense for everything to be combat-based: <strong>we want Link to eat his brains as players always do.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This point will also be essential in the evolution of the story.
