Can you imagine a documentary so powerful that Disney Plus<\/a>, after acquiring its rights, decided not to release it?<\/strong> This is exactly what happened with “En el nombre de ellas” (In Their Name), a Spanish series produced by Sr. Mono that portrays the life of Kote Cabezudo, a renowned photographer from Donosti who turned out to be a highly dangerous sexual abuser.<\/p>\n\n\n

In November 2022, the streaming platform Disney Plus<\/a> had planned to release this documentary series on its platform<\/strong>, which is not surprising considering its wide range of documentary content. However, after carefully analyzing the footage, they decided to back out and return the rights to its production company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The documentary that Disney+ did not want<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The reason behind this change of plans was not officially announced by Disney Plus, but it was stated that it was out of respect for the victims of Kote Cabezudo<\/strong> portrayed in the documentary series. However, Netflix<\/a> seemed to have fewer scruples in this regard, as they acquired the rights to the documentary once again and premiered it on their platform just two weeks ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case of Kote Cabezudo<\/strong> is undeniably chilling, which explains Disney Plus’ decision. It all began in 2013 when a young model filed a lawsuit for fraud against the photographer (who was also a dentist) in a court in San Sebastian. At the time, Kote Cabezudo was already 75 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initial complaint was due to some of the photo sessions he had conducted circulating on porn websites, and the case was quickly closed. However, as the investigation began under the lawyer Mario D\u00edez, things took a dark turn. Numerous victims of non-consensual sexual abuse, rape, and even child pornography<\/strong> came to light. It is one of the most disturbing cases of its kind in Spain, and now it can be seen on Netflix<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n
