Avatar<\/a> is a franchise that has only released two movies so far<\/strong>, and yet we had to wait 13 years to see both of them. Back in the day, the constant delays of the sequel to James Cameron<\/a>‘s blockbuster film became a subject of mockery, and it wasn’t until it finally arrived in late 2022<\/strong> that we believed it was a reality.<\/p>\n\n\n

However, “Avatar: The Way of Water” was just the first of many movies<\/strong> that Cameron had in mind. And as we have learned later, we will have up to 5 Avatar movies\u2026 plus whatever else Disney can do with the franchise now that they have the rights that belonged to Fox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But when will the next Avatar<\/a> movies be released?<\/strong> Although their releases were originally planned to be relatively soon, the Hollywood writers’ strike has caused further delays\u2026 and we could be facing a situation similar to that of the second movie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avatar 3, Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 Release Dates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Initially, Disney was planning to release the next three Avatar<\/a> movies in 2024, 2026, and 2028, with a two-year gap between each installment. However, they have been ultimately delayed. The new release dates are set for 2025, 2029, and 2031<\/strong>. All three films are scheduled to hit theaters in December of their respective years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This means that James Cameron<\/a> will be a whopping 77 years old<\/strong> when the final Avatar movie is released, an age at which few filmmakers manage to keep up with the pace. Regardless, we still have a long time to go before we can delve further into the world of the Na’vi, so it’s best to get comfortable and patiently await their gradual arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n
