AMD is set to unveil a groundbreaking display technology<\/a> for gaming called FreeSync Panel Replay, and its implementation could be one of the major advancements in the world of computing, particularly in terms of energy efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FreeSync Panel Replay from AMD automatically reduces the refresh rate to conserve energy and lessen the GPU workload.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This feature is similar to the Panel Self Refresh (PSR) option found in various mobile devices. FreeSync Panel Replay operates in such a way that when the screen content remains static<\/strong>, the refresh rate is automatically lowered to decrease power consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, the ProMotion displays on the iPhone 14 Pro reduce the refresh rate to 1 Hz when the device is in idle mode<\/strong>. The FreeSync Panel Replay will function similarly, but for monitors and laptop screens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
