That the E3 <\/strong>event is in a precarious state is an undeniable reality. We haven’t had an edition since 2019, either because of the COVID-19 pandemic that prevented any type of event or because the organizers themselves didn’t know what to do with the show and ended up canceling it<\/a>. In fact, the latter seems to be the major problem on the table: they have no idea whether they will hold the upcoming editions of the Los Angeles trade fair<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The context is as follows. Just a few hours ago, the Los Angeles City Tourism Board<\/a> published the results of the conventions held in the city\u2026 and there was a surprise among the slides, as it stated, “including the cancellations of E3 for 2024 and 2025.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another document from the Los Angeles Department of Tourism, dated October 2022, it was mentioned that the ESA had reserved the space for two more years<\/strong>. Therefore, if the cancellation has been reported now when it was previously reserved\u2026 it means that a decision has been made between that October and now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response to this news, the ESA (Electronic Software Association) has issued a statement in an attempt to calm the uproar<\/strong>, although it’s unclear if it has actually aggravated the situation. In the statement provided, they indicated that “we are still in discussions about E3 2024 (and beyond) and no final decision has been made regarding the event at this time.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With these statements from the organization, it is clear that the celebration of the event is completely up in the air<\/strong>. However, if we had to lean towards one side of the scale, it is evident that these editions are likely to be canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CEO of the ESA, Stanley Pierre-Louis, previously stated when the 2023 edition was canceled that the convention would return in 2024. However, the reality is that the ESA does not have the support of the major companies in the industry<\/strong>, including the biggest ones that stir up the whole scene to generate momentum.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
