The Pok\u00e9mon Company is no different, but to the extreme. Expecting them to be at the forefront of adopting any kind of technology is a mistake because they are not that kind of company. However, in some cases, their tendency to progress very slowly, changing nothing unless absolutely necessary, becomes somewhat ridiculous. This has led to <strong>The Pok\u00e9mon Company&#8217;s decision, on July 5, 2023, to open the <a href=\"https:\/\/community.pokemon.com\/en-us\/categories\/pokemon-general\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">first official Pok\u00e9mon forum<\/a><\/strong> for players to discuss the franchise&#8217;s video games, anime, and trading card game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">My chat informed me there is apparently an official Pokemon forum and the posts there are something&#8230;<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/4SlmPTbHgc\">https:\/\/t.co\/4SlmPTbHgc<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/taZbLSg3eo\">pic.twitter.com\/taZbLSg3eo<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Ultima? | #\u0432\u029f\u043c (@UltimaShadowX) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UltimaShadowX\/status\/1676376276729315328?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 4, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Opening a forum in 2023 comes with its challenges. Not only because it seems outdated, but also because there is a need for strict control over the content that will be posted, even if unlike imageboards like 4chan, the identities of the writers are not private to the administrators. And that&#8217;s where The Pok\u00e9mon Company made a miscalculation. <strong>They opened their doors without enough moderators to control what was going to happen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With posts about sexual attraction towards Pok\u00e9mon, odes to piracy, and <strong>baffling acts of trolling, the forum quickly filled with the kind of content that was to be expected<\/strong>. Even if somehow they managed to avoid, to some extent, Pok\u00e9mon pornography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">So there\u2019s an official Pokemon forum now apparently and LMAO?? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/oDXyYbtDY2\">pic.twitter.com\/oDXyYbtDY2<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Touya! \u2605 (@Touyarokii) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Touyarokii\/status\/1676381060983304192?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 5, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, it seems that gradually the moderators are regaining control of the forum, establishing usage guidelines and ensuring that users follow them. <strong>While there are still some questionable threads, it no longer has the appearance of those early hours when it seemed like something out of the wild days of the late 2000s<\/strong>, where anything goes on the internet and the person you&#8217;re talking to could very well be a dog.
