Netflix has just made another strong move<\/strong>. The streaming platform<\/a> has had an exciting year in which, despite the drama with cancellation policies, it continues to release new series and movies that keep it at the top. And even though we’re only in the middle of the year, it’s clear that this is just the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n

The VOD platform has just announced “1992,” a new series by \u00c1lex de la Iglesia<\/strong>. So far, we have only received a teaser poster and the following description: “Thriller + suspense and intrigue + a key moment in Spain’s recent history. ‘1992,’ the series created by \u00c1lex de la Iglesia<\/a> and starring Marian \u00c1lvarez, Fernando Valdivielso, Paz Vega, and Carlos Santos, has begun filming.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seville Expo as the setting for a terrifying thriller<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Apparently, “1992” will be set at the Seville Expo of the same year<\/strong>, which was an unparalleled phenomenon for Spain at that time and is remembered as a significant step towards the country’s globalization. The cast also indicates that it will be set in this location, especially Paz Vega, who hails from Seville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although we don’t have an official synopsis yet, the teaser poster provides some clues. It features Curro, the Expo’s iconic mascot<\/a>, with fiery eyes and a hood<\/strong>. We don’t know if it will be something literal, like “Carnaval de Veneciafrenia,” or just a metaphor for what the series will represent\u2026 but knowing \u00c1lex de la Iglesia, it could be both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After achieving success on HBO Max with “30 Coins,”<\/strong> which will soon premiere its second season<\/a>, De la Iglesia is making the leap to Netflix with this intriguing proposal. We will see if it lives up to the circumstances, although the anticipation is certainly high. By the way, there is currently no release date announced.<\/p>\n\n\n
