Mark Zuckerberg<\/strong> has been the talk of the internet for several weeks now. In late June, the CEO of Meta <\/strong>expressed keen interest in taking on Elon Musk<\/strong><\/a> after the Twitter <\/strong>CEO said he was up for a cage fight “if he’s game.” Two weeks later, the date for this showdown between the two alpha males is still unknown, although Musk’s mother doesn’t seem to be too keen on the idea<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

The rivalry between the two CEOs has been growing since it was revealed that Meta was developing an app to directly compete with Twitter<\/strong><\/a>. This week, Zuckerberg has taken it a step further by posting a tweet from his personal Twitter account, after more than 10 years of inactivity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tweet, with just an image and devoid of words, says a lot with very little. The image used is the famous Internet meme of the two Spider-Man pointing at each other<\/strong>, a meme so popular that it is referenced in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse<\/a><\/strong>, the latest film featuring the web-slinging superhero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Published on the same day that Threads is released<\/strong> (although not in Europe), Zuckerberg is referencing the fact that his new app is a clone of Twitter and that, as its name suggests, it’s all about posting threads<\/strong>. This post is clearly intended to generate buzz and indirectly promote Threads, which probably didn’t sit well with Musk, whose ego can be fragile even by just looking at it<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Now, Zuckerberg only needs to update and improve Threads, as it lacks many of the basic features of Twitter<\/strong> at its launch, such as private messaging. However, it allows us to easily sign up by logging into our Instagram account<\/strong>, and we can even import our bios and avatars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
