This week, Hollywood actors confirmed that they are going on strike, joining their fellow screenwriters<\/strong>. The SAG-AFTRA<\/strong> union, which represents more than 160,000 actors, including entertainment heavyweights, announced that it was going on strike because of the poor working conditions<\/strong> for performers in an industry that is collapsing.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

But poor conditions are not the only reason for the strike. SAG-AFTRA’s chief negotiator, Duncan Crabtree-Ireland<\/strong>, revealed <\/a><\/strong>yesterday at a press conference that the Alliance of Motion Picture <\/strong>and Television Producers (Hollywood, so we understand each other) proposed to them, among other things, “an innovative IA proposal that protects actors’ digital images for SAG-AFTRA members.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
