If you\u2019ve browsed the internet ats of late, you\u2019ve probably seen what people refer to as “photoshopped” images, photos that have been digitally altered, either for humor or to enhance them in some way.<\/p>\n

One image edit you might notice or want to learn how to do yourself is changing eye color in portraits<\/strong>. It might sound complicated, but with PhotoFiltre it\u2019s a simple little edit you can make in a matter of minutes. I’ll take you through the steps below.<\/p>\n

1.\tLaunch Photofiltre and find an image of someone whose eye color you want to change.<\/p>\n

\n2.\tZoom in on the picture so you can see one of the eyes very closely. You can do this with your mouse if it has a scroll wheel or manually by going up to the Tools <\/strong>menu bar in PhotoFiltre and clicking Zoom in<\/strong> as many times as necessary.<\/p>\n

\nIt’s okay if your image is a bit pixelated when you zoom in so closely. Don\u2019t worry if the eye in question is a little blurry. You won\u2019t be able to tell once you zoom out again when you\u2019re done!<\/p>\n

3.\tNow it\u2019s time to select the part of the eye that you want to change the color on. You can do this one of two ways. First, you can free-hand select<\/strong> the part you want to change by using the Lasso<\/strong> tool.<\/p>\n

In the Selection <\/strong>menu bar, choose Set shape<\/strong> > Lasso<\/strong>. Now just trace the part of the picture you want to select by holding down the mouse.<\/p>\n

\nWhen you\u2019ve returned to your starting point, you should see the area you traced selected and ready for the next step.

\nIf the Lasso tool is giving you issues, the other option is to return to the Selection <\/strong>menu bar and choose Set shape<\/strong> > Polygon<\/strong>, which is the option right below Lasso. The Polygon tool is a point-to-point selection tool<\/strong>. Click once and begin tracing a smaller section. Click again, and the lines will connect. That way, if you make a mistake, it\u2019s a lot easier to fix. Continue doing this around the entire eye until it\u2019s entirely selected.<\/p>\n

4. Changing the eye color comes next. Go to the Adjust <\/strong>menu bar option and choose the last option on the list: Hue variation<\/strong>. A new window with a set of colors will appear. Just scroll to the hue you want to use as your new eye color, then click Ok<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nNote that this is a color you’re choosing to paint over your existing eye color, not the actual color the edited eye is going to turn out. As you can see above, I chose a lime green color, which turned the eye I selected a darker green when it mixed with the original blue of the eye.<\/p>\n

\nIf you don\u2019t like the color, simply go to the Edit <\/strong>menu bar, pick the Undo <\/strong>option and choose a new hue.<\/p>\n

5. Don\u2019t forget to walk through the same steps with the other eye! Then just zoom out to the image\u2019s original size and you\u2019re done.<\/p>\n
