Although Barbie has been an unparalleled critical success<\/a>\u2014and it seems likely to be a box office hit as well\u2014the first battle against its unexpected rival, Oppenheimer<\/a>, which also debuts on the same weekend, has been lost. Oppenheimer has emerged on Rotten Tomatoes with an incredible 96% approval rating from critics<\/strong>\u2014although it has since dropped to 92%, where it seems to have stabilized. This puts the film slightly ahead of Barbie, although it’s clear that both movies are excellent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christopher Nolan<\/a>‘s film tells the story of Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who led the Manhattan Project and was the key figure behind the atomic bomb. His story is undoubtedly heart-wrenching but essential in the course of World War II. And it appears that Nolan has captured it perfectly.
