ChatGPT is undergoing changes, although until now, it has been incredibly challenging to pinpoint how or why<\/strong>. Users have complained extensively that the language model GPT-4<\/a> powering the paid version of the OpenAI chatbot has been degrading over time, providing false answers, and refusing to follow instructions it once adhered to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now, new research<\/a> reveals that, indeed, the AI has undergone some rather profound changes, albeit perhaps not in the way users expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We evaluated #ChatGPT<\/a>'s behavior over time and found substantial diffs in its responses to the *same questions* between the June version of GPT4 and GPT3.5 and the March versions.
