However, the franchise is far from dying, and Paramount Pictures has an idea on how to revive it: through GI Joe<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

The GI Joe brand of toys has already been featured in movies, with Dwayne Johnson<\/a> as the protagonist<\/strong>, and in “Rise of the Beasts,” they had a brief cameo that makes it clear they coexist in the same Transformers world. That’s why Paramount wants to bring them together now: to create an epic showdown between both groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2026 seems to be the definitive date<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the producer of “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” has made it clear in statements to The Direct<\/a> about his plans for the future of this Transformers and GI Joe crossover movie<\/strong>. However, there isn’t much good news for fans:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s a good question. We were about to start a script when the writer’s strike hit<\/strong>. So, our hope was to have it ready for 2025, but I think the longer the strike goes on, the more it puts the production in 2026.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, we’ll have to wait until the writer’s strike is resolved before progress can be made in this direction. Nonetheless, more details about the movie’s concept have started to emerge<\/strong>. Di Bonaventura explains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Just like in any other Transformers<\/a> movie, the main ingredients are humans and robots teaming up to stop the villain. The Joes will be part of these ingredients now. We’re not going into the Joe world; they’re coming into our world. Now, we have to figure out the plot we want to make<\/strong>, etc., but they will be an active participant, so to speak. Some of the characters will try to stop the bad guy.”<\/p>\n\n\n
