The filming for the first season began in the fall of 2020 and concluded in August 2021. It is now expected that production for the next season will start at some point during this summer. Considering these time frames, <strong>it is most likely that &#8220;The Sandman&#8221; will return in 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, <strong>the episode distribution might be different<\/strong>. In an interview with Variety, Peter Friedlander, an executive at Netflix Television in Canada and the US, explained that the platform is considering how to release the episodes. One of the prominent rumors is that we might receive multiple batches of episodes divided into &#8220;volumes,&#8221; as seen in <strong>&#8220;Stranger Things.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moreover, there may be more to come from &#8220;The Sandman&#8221; on Netflix. <strong>Allan Heinberg<\/strong> confirmed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/tv\/the-sandman-season-2-spin-off-netflix-allan-heinberg-3283622\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">NME<\/a> that he desires to <strong>adapt as much material as possible from &#8220;The Sandman&#8221; in future seasons<\/strong>, even considering potential spin-offs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, all these plans could be disrupted due to the strike by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and SAG-AFTRA. Neil Gaiman stated that<strong> the series would not use non-union writers<\/strong>, resulting in the official suspension of production for new episodes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What will the second season of The Sandman be about?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first season focused on the first two collections of &#8220;The Sandman.&#8221; Now, Neil Gaiman has confirmed that part of the second season will delve into the story of <strong>&#8216;A Game of You.&#8217; <\/strong>However, it&#8217;s also likely that this plot may be delayed in favor of volume 7, <strong>&#8216;Brief Lives.&#8217;<\/strong> Will we finally get to see <strong>Destruction<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For now, there are several unresolved matters, such as <strong>the conflict between Lucifer and Morpheus<\/strong>.
