Guardians of the Galaxy’ <\/strong>does not disappoint. Marvel scores another great success under the baton of James Gunn, both with audiences and critics. And in this installment, viewers witness the last great adventure of the ramshackle group that has been accompanying us since 2014 <\/strong>(yes, it’s been almost 10 years already).<\/p>\n\n\n

As usual in the House of Ideas, during Volume 3 we can find several heroes and characters from Marvel comics. As a good farewell movie, Gunn brings back familiar faces and introduces new heroes as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For starters, the film brings its fair share of cameos<\/strong>. One of them is Howard the Duck<\/strong>, who returns to make an appearance after his first appearance in the post-credits scene of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy'(2014). After being freed from the clutches of the Collector <\/strong>we have seen him again in Volume 2<\/strong> and even in the final battle of Avengers: Endgame.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unexpectedly, Yondu <\/strong>returns, but as a “vision” from Kraglin’s <\/strong>mind. His presence helps him to master the guided arrow<\/strong>, an extremely dangerous weapon in the right hands. During the film we also see Stakar Ogord and Martinex,<\/strong> part of the original Guardians of the Galaxy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who are Adam Warlock and Phyla Vell?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cameos aside, Volume 3 introduced two new heroes who will be key to the future of the franchise: Adam Warlock and Phyla Vell.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the case of Adam Warlock, we are talking about a character that was created in 1967 and was first seen alongside the Fantastic Four. In the comics, Adam Warlock was the Enclave’s answer to the search for the perfect huma<\/strong>n. The intention of this group of researchers was to use Warlock as a powerful weapon of destruction. However, he ends up getting rid of the Enclave <\/strong>and tries to forge a new destiny on the side of the heroes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, Phyla Vell<\/strong> debuts as a future Guardian in Volume 3. Although lesser known, Vell has also been a character in the comics, but not just any character. However, the version of Vell that Gunn presents us with differs from what we have read in the Marvel stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the comics, Phyla Vell is another of the multiple versions we’ve had of Captain Marvel <\/strong>throughout her history. Her first appearance dates back to 2003 and is introduced as the daughter of Elysius<\/strong>, a genetically modified lover of Mar-Vell. Phyla Vell’s power is basically to shoot and manipulate energy blasts, among others. In the comics she possessed the Quantum Bands<\/strong>, which transform energy at the stellar level, which is no small feat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We still don’t know what the future of the MCU will be, nor will we know when the next installment of Guardians of the Galaxy will be released. However, thanks to the end of Volume 3, we can sense that these characters have a long life ahead of them.<\/p>\n\n\n
