The Hunchback of Notre Dame seemed like a logical next Disney<\/a> remake, and the studio had even cast an actor for the lead role: Josh Gad (voice of Olaf in Frozen). But as revealed by The DisInsider<\/a>, Disney’s plans have shifted<\/strong>, and they are no longer pursuing a live-action version of this iconic film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Iger is not the biggest fan of The Hunchback of Notre Dame”<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

“Now that Bob Iger is back in the driver’s seat<\/strong>, it’s highly unlikely the project will move forward, as Iger is not the biggest fan of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and a new version isn’t high on his priority list,” explained the source. “Of course, things can change, but this is the most recent information we have on the project.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Disney CEO Bob Iger<\/a> currently navigating a challenging year for the company<\/strong>, one of the early outcomes could be the cancellation of this project. In exchange, as reported, Iger is keen on pursuing a live-action remake of the movie Tangled, which tells the story of Rapunzel. Additionally, the live-action Hercules remake is expected to continue, which makes sense given the recent success of The Little Mermaid remake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
