This patch, weighing around 2GB<\/strong>, comes with many improvements and technical advancements in software for the operating system. However, it will still be the same version of One UI<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this way, the Samsung Galaxy S22 continues with its update schedule, which still has years of support remaining<\/strong>. However, if you’re hoping to see One UI updated to version 6 or 5.1.1 that have been released in recent weeks, you’ll have to wait longer<\/strong>, because this update doesn’t feature functionalities specific to those systems, or at least, not yet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

As reported by Sammobile<\/a>, this update mostly focuses on security improvements<\/strong>, so in terms of software, we won’t find major changes in the system. While it might disappoint some, it’s also important for phones to stay up-to-date with security patches<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, it’s worth noting that the S23 models in Europe haven’t received the relevant One UI update yet, as they are the devices on the frontline in 2023<\/strong>. Therefore, Samsung users will need to be patient until they receive the eagerly awaited improvements to their user interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The update policies nowadays<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It’s worth celebrating that modern high-end smartphones have much longer update policies<\/strong> than they did a few years ago. While earlier models like the Samsung Galaxy S8 had two years of updates and three years of security patches, the S22 and S23 now come with four years of updates<\/strong> and five years of security patches from their launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there is still room for improvement in this support<\/strong>. It’s true that when models are no longer at the forefront<\/strong>, even though they continue to receive support, the wait for updates tends to be longer, and the content of the updates is often more limited<\/strong>, even if they have the necessary features to receive better functions. That said, it’s more than confirmed that the S22 series will indeed receive Android 14 updates.<\/p>\n\n\n
