La Vuelta 23 - Recorrido oficial (Official Route) ?\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3FnjYdy_Yt0?start=2&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The route of the Vuelta<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2023 Vuelta a Espa\u00f1a has one thing in common with this year&#8217;s Tour de France and that is that the organizers have wisely spread the GC challenges over the three weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tough climbs abound from shortly after the start until the final days of the race<\/strong>, which will make for an entertaining ride through Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, the first day will have implications for the general classification, as the riders will face a team time trial in Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A hilly finish to stage 2 could favor the puncheurs, and then stage 3 will close with two first-category (altitude) climbs in Andorra.<strong> In other words, we should see the favorites start to come to the fore just three days after the start of the Vuelta.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">??Un recorrido lleno de matices y a trav\u00e9s de las etapas 14 y 15 de <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/LaVuelta23?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#LaVuelta23<\/a> con La Vuelta de Los Colosos con <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VB_Travel_Group?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@VB_Travel_Group<\/a> ?<br><br>??A tour full of shades and through stages 14 and 15 of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/LaVuelta23?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#LaVuelta23<\/a> with La Vuelta de Los Colosos with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VB_Travel_Group?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@VB_Travel_Group<\/a> ? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/nwq2ZEM5aL\">pic.twitter.com\/nwq2ZEM5aL<\/a><\/p>&mdash; La Vuelta (@lavuelta) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lavuelta\/status\/1694288374688075837?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 23, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After two more days for the fast riders, as the Vuelta moves south, another first category finish will come on stage 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will be followed by another flatter stage before two gritty finishes on stages 8 and 9, before the first rest day. Immediately after that rest day will come a crucial day for the overall contenders: the only individual time trial of the race, a 25.8 km flat race in Valladolid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another uphill finish awaits on stage 11, and then there will be a bit of a breather with a sprint stage in Zaragoza on stage 12 before a brutal stage 13 that is up or down basically from start to finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The riders will immediately face a category 3 climb, then the special category Col d&#8217;Aubisque, then the category 1 Col de Spandelles, before finishing on the special category Col du Tourmalet, which climbs to a whopping 2,115 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As usual, <strong>this is a Vuelta that will heavily favor the climbers<\/strong>, but the team time trial and individual time trial will have an impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"TOP 5 FAVORITOS A LA VUELTA A ESPA\u00d1A 2023 ??\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wUb3iwVukak?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Big favorites: Rogli\u010d, Vingegaard and Evenepoel.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A few days before the start of the race in Barcelona, it looks like a &#8220;big three&#8221; situation.<strong> Jumbo is the bookmakers&#8217; top favorite, while Evenepoel will try to defend its Vuelta title against the black and yellow giant.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s start with Jumbo-Visma, where the question &#8220;Vingegaard or Rogli\u010d?&#8221; will be one of the most intriguing storylines of this race. Vingegaard would certainly be a clear favorite if this were the Tour de France, his main goal for the season, <strong>but this is the Vuelta, and it&#8217;s Rogli\u010d who has made his ambitions public here all season long.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vingegaard&#8217;s decision to join the fun, however, has come as more belated news, so it&#8217;s a real unknown as to whether he&#8217;s fit enough to win races and what his goals are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">?
