Nothing seems to stop WhatsApp<\/strong>. The popular messaging app, owned by Meta, has been releasing all sorts of updates for quite a while now, including the management of multiple accounts<\/a>, a sticker recommendation feature<\/a>, and the ability to mute calls from strangers<\/a>. But the latest change implemented by WhatsApp is even bigger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

As reported by the website WABetaInfo<\/a><\/strong>, which analyzes new versions of WhatsApp for information, the latest beta for the messaging app on Android (version 2.23.13.16) includes a quite drastic change. And what is it? Well, nothing less than a complete redesign of the interface<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new interface of WhatsApp marks a turning point<\/strong> for those of us who had gotten used to the classic design of the app (updated over the years, yes, but without altering the general composition too much).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On one hand, we come across the fact that the top bar of WhatsApp, which used to be green, is now white<\/strong> in this latest version. Similarly, elements that were previously white are now green. Furthermore, the other significant aesthetic change in this redesign is the WhatsApp logo at the top left corner, which will now use a new font and appear larger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the redesign introduces a set of filters<\/strong> that will be a lifesaver for those of us who have to navigate through dozens of chats every day. The new filters will allow us to easily view unread messages<\/strong>, personal messages<\/strong>, and work-related messages<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The overall redesign also retains one of the recent changes that have come out in the WhatsApp beta: the navigation bar (where the tabs for “Chats,” “Status,” and “Calls” appear) will be at the bottom<\/strong> (similar to iOS) instead of at the top, as is still the case in stable versions of WhatsApp for Android.<\/p>\n\n\n

Given that it’s still in the development phase, the new redesign is subject to potential further changes<\/strong> in the coming months before it is ultimately released in stable versions of WhatsApp. There’s even the possibility that it might not be released at all if beta testers give it negative feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
