Originally launched for PC in August and more recently for the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/playstation-brings-another-of-its-great-productions-to-pc-and-we-already-have-confirmation-of-the-ps-plus-extra-and-premium-games?ex=CS-1537.2\">PlayStation <\/a>5, Mac users have patiently awaited their turn to experience the game in its entirety. If you&#8217;ve already invested time and effort into building your characters on the PC or PS5 versions of the game, you&#8217;ll be pleased to know that your progress will carry over seamlessly to the Mac version. Initially, Baldur&#8217;s Gate III launched for Windows PCs on August 3rd and then made its way to the PlayStation 5 earlier this year. However, it&#8217;s important to note that, unlike the PlayStation 5, there&#8217;s no simultaneous release planned for Xbox consoles. This isn&#8217;t due to any exclusivity deals with Sony; rather, it&#8217;s a technical challenge faced by Larian Studios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Microsoft has strict rules demanding feature parity for games released on Series S and Series X consoles. Unfortunately, Larian Studios couldn&#8217;t overcome the technical hurdles required to implement the game&#8217;s split-screen co-op feature on the less powerful Series S. However, a resolution was reached after discussions with Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer. The Xbox version of Baldur&#8217;s Gate III will be released for both Series S and Series X, albeit without the split-screen function. The silver lining? Players will enjoy cross-save progression between Steam and the two Xbox consoles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the exact release date for the Xbox version of Baldur&#8217;s Gate III is still pending, it&#8217;s anticipated to grace our screens before the year&#8217;s end. In the meantime, Mac users can mark their calendars for September 21st and prepare to embark on an epic adventure in the world of Baldur&#8217;s Gate.
