It’s been quite tumultuous days in the world of video games due to the massive leak that Xbox has experienced<\/a>. For the past few days, the company from Redmond has been hit hard by the vast amount of private data that is coming to light. The worst part? It has been confirmed that all the leaked data is a result of a Microsoft error<\/a>. Yes, you read that correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n

In response to this blow, Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox division, has apologized to his employees in an internal email<\/a>. Naturally, this email has ended up becoming public knowledge, and in it, you can see that the impact they’ve received is significant: “Today, numerous documents sent to the court related to our proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard were unintentionally published. I know this is disappointing<\/strong>, even though these documents are from a year ago, and our plans have evolved.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I also know that we all take the confidentiality of our plans and our partners’ information very seriously. This leak clearly means we haven’t lived up to those expectations<\/strong>. We will learn from what happened and be better in the future,” he states. “We all put a lot of passion and energy into our work, and this is never how we want that hard work to be shared with the community. That said, there is so much more to be excited about, and when we are ready, we will share the actual plans with our players.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
