Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad<\/a><\/strong>, has spoken with Variety<\/a> to address this doubt. The showrunner has made it clear, firstly, that there could potentially be a spin-off in mind, although he doesn’t specify it clearly. Secondly, if he goes through with it, it will have a lot to do with the final scene of Better Call Saul, which left the door open for the entire Breaking Bad universe to be further explored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A possibility that is up in the air<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After recounting the events that led Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) to become the infamous Saul Goodman, Better Call Saul concludes once Breaking Bad<\/a> is surpassed. In the series, we see Saul acknowledging his role in Walter White<\/strong>‘s (Bryan Cranston) drug empire and going to prison for his crimes. Ultimately, the final scene of Better Call Saul shows Jimmy making gun gestures with his fingers at Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) from behind the prison doors. With his 86-year prison sentence, Jimmy will die behind those doors. But the last black-and-white shot of him in prison is even more significant now that Gilligan has spoken about his plans for the spinoff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although Better Call Saul wraps up the events of its predecessor series, there has been much discussion about another Breaking Bad spin-off. While Gilligan, the co-creator of the series, isn’t completely opposed to the idea, he currently has no plans to return to the Breaking Bad universe<\/strong>. During the interview, Gilligan admitted the following: “Maybe we’ll see more clearly how to do something in the future. But what I would like to do is leave it be.” He then emphasized that he doesn’t want to “beat a dead horse,” especially if there are “no more stories to tell.”<\/p>\n\n\n
