Remember when Twitter <\/strong>users begged the company to introduce a button to edit tweets?<\/strong> And remember when Elon Mus<\/strong>k took over Twitter and, shortly thereafter, launched the feature as part of the paid Twitter Blue<\/a><\/strong> service? Yes, it was possibly one of the biggest disappointments in the social networking world.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

But, if you’re thinking of moving on and saying goodbye to X (seriously, what a horror of a name), you’re in luck, because Threads<\/a><\/strong>, the “Twitter of Meta<\/strong>“, has just launched an edit button<\/strong> that allows you to correct your posts up to five minutes after you’ve uploaded them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This way you can avoid having to delete and republish them<\/strong>, which is a hassle and also causes you to lose the likes and reposts you already had.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The edit button is available both on the mobile version and on the we<\/strong>b version of Threads, and is one of the new features announced by Mark Zuckerberg in a post<\/a><\/strong>. Best of all, you don’t have to pay anything to use it<\/strong>, unlike Twitter, which took 16 years to add an edit button and on top of that only made it available to users who paid for a subscription.<\/p>\n\n\n

But it’s not all advantages. Threads does not show the edit history of a post<\/strong>, which means that you can change the text of what you have posted without anyone knowing what you had written before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something that can be a problem, as the edit button can be used with not very good intentions <\/strong>such as, for example, posting something that captures the attention of many users and then changing it to something completely different or false.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zuckerberg also announced that Threads is launching “Voice Threads,<\/strong>” a feature that allows users to add voice posts to the social network. This option is very useful for people who prefer to use voice instead of text, although it is not yet available to all users.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

The updates come at a time when Threads is trying to improve its search and trending <\/strong>feature to better compete with Twitter<\/strong>.
