If there is a music app that stands out above all others, it’s Spotify. The green logo app has managed to stay at the top of the podium for more than a decade<\/strong>, despite the efforts of Apple Music or YouTube Music. And, according to the data from the third quarter of 2023, it seems that is not going to change<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

The number of people paying for Spotify Premium increased by 3%, reaching 226 million paying users<\/strong>. This translates to more people paying and a slightly higher subscription fee. It’s all good news for Spotify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spotify’s monthly active users (MAU) also increased to 574 million<\/strong> as of September 30th, a 4% rise compared to the previous quarter. Both increases slightly exceeded Spotify’s expectations<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Numbers that support Spotify’s direction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If we compare the year-over-year performance, Premium subscribers increased by 16%, while MAU increased by 26%. Spotify states that the net growth of monthly active users was the second-largest increase in the third quarter in its history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest Spotify subscriber figures have been disclosed as part of today’s earnings report, covering the three months ending on September 30th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Midway through the quarter, in late July, the company announced a price increase, Spotify’s first in the United States since its launch more than a decade ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
