This nomenclature later evolved into Mac OS X and eventually to the current macOS. Additionally, it introduced numerous new features, though its arrival wasn&#8217;t without controversy. For the first time, it wasn&#8217;t compatible with older Macintosh models that solely used floppy disks, and due to its high RAM consumption, it posed challenges even for some models equipped with hard drives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The System 7.0.1 emulator at hand, based on the open-source Mini vMac emulator, offers us the opportunity to experience this historical operating system in an accessible and modern way.
