There’s nothing inherently wrong<\/em> with remasters. Many games benefit tremendously from them. Games that need a facelift, a graphical or mechanical refresh, without necessarily changing the game’s basic elements<\/strong>. A remaster is simply that: updating something that may have aged but needs a coat of paint, not to be rebuilt. Something that, when it doesn’t aim to replace the original, always has a positive aspect.<\/p>\n\n\n

The latest game to receive a remaster is Dusk<\/strong>. A game published by New Blood Interactive, released in 2018, and its new version, Dusk HD<\/a>, showcases redesigned graphics for all visual elements of the game, including enemies and weapon models, along with new models and animations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re not familiar with Dusk, you should know that this game heavily draws from ’90s and early ’00s shooters. Heavily inspired by Doom, Quake, Blood, and Half-Life, featuring a heavy metal soundtrack, exquisite gunplay, and a psychotronic story mixing government conspiracies and strange mystical experiments<\/strong>, the game stands as one of the best shooters in recent years. A true homage to the so-called “boomer shooters.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
