Sam Altman<\/strong> announced in November (days before the OpenAI chaos) a new feature, GPTs, that allows us to create our own intelligent bots. Like most of the updates released by OpenAI, only those with a ChatGPT Plus subscription will have access to them. In return, we will be able to have a bot configured exactly as we want. How do I create my own GPT?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although it may sound complicated, you don’t need advanced computer knowledge to create your own GPT. If you don’t have an OpenAI account, you will need to register<\/strong> and create one, as well as subscribe to ChatGPT Plus<\/strong>. Then, go to the GPT editor website, through this link<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the top area, you will find two tabs, Create<\/strong> and Configure<\/strong>. Access Configure<\/strong> and start structuring your GPTs from scratch. This includes giving it a name<\/strong> and adding a brief description<\/strong> where you explain what your GPTs will do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, enter in the Instructions<\/strong> box how the bot should act. Don’t be stingy with details: write what it will be used for, the functions it should perform, when it should perform them, etc. Further down you will also find another section, Conversation starters<\/strong>. These are phrases<\/strong> that the bot will use to be activated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the purpose served by our GPT, it is likely that we will need to upload information<\/strong> for it to function correctly. For example: imagine that you want to create a bot that writes in old Spanish. In that case, you will need to train it with old Spanish data. From Knowledge<\/strong>, you will find a button to upload files to the platform. However, never upload anything that may contain passwords or sensitive information of any kind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below you will see another button, the one that says Create new action<\/strong>. Here you can upload APIs to make your bot more effective (as long as you know how to do it).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you finish setting it up, go to the Guardar<\/strong> (or Save) button. Then, several options will appear that will allow you to make your GPT public<\/strong>, make it accessible with a link<\/strong>, or make it only usable by you<\/strong>. Choose one and confirm your choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s it! Now you can use your own version of ChatGPT.<\/strong> To use it, access ChatGPT and type any of the phrases you configured from Conversation starters<\/strong>. Your bot will activate instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n
