Elton John, the musician who inspired the movie Rocketman and who has been behind dozens of musicals and film soundtracks, won the Emmy last night thanks to his show Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium, available on Disney Plus<\/a>. And this puts him as one of the 19 exclusive members of the EGOT club<\/strong>. But what does this club exactly mean?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EGOT club stands for Emmy, Golden Globe, Oscar, and Tony<\/strong>, and as the name suggests, it is exclusively for those who have won all four major awards in the entertainment industry. Elton John has successfully entered the club after winning five Grammy Awards, a Tony for his original music in the musical Aida, two Oscars for “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from The Lion King<\/a> and “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” from his biopic Rocketman, and his new Emmy.<\/p>\n\n\n
