Everyone knew this moment would come. Palworld has been a smashing success in sales and players on Steam for a week<\/a>. Right now they have sold 7 million units and have over 2 million players connected at the same time<\/strong> (placing it as the 2nd highest peak in Steam history, behind PUBG with 3.3 million).<\/p>\n\n\n

And it is that success that has made everyone notice that Palworld is too “inspired” by other games<\/a>. The main inspiration, obvious, is Pok\u00e9mon. How? Yes, we said it out loud.<\/strong> And Nintendo knows it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pokemon Company has just officially announced that it has not granted any permission to “another company”<\/strong>, referring to Palworld, to use the Pokemon intellectual property and that it “intends to investigate and take appropriate measures” against the operator of the fast-growing survival game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pokemon Company has made a statement about Palworld:

\u201cWe have received many inquiries regarding another company\u2019s game released in January 2024. We have not granted any permission for the use of Pok\u00e9mon intellectual property or assets in that game.
