{"id":272414,"date":"2024-02-01T02:34:12","date_gmt":"2024-02-01T07:34:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sftarticles.wpenginepowered.com\/es\/?p=325646"},"modified":"2025-07-01T17:07:33","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T00:07:33","slug":"if-youre-waiting-for-the-next-battlefield-were-afraid-ea-is-in-no-hurry-to-release-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms-articles.softonic.io\/en\/if-youre-waiting-for-the-next-battlefield-were-afraid-ea-is-in-no-hurry-to-release-it\/","title":{"rendered":"If you&#8217;re waiting for the next Battlefield, we&#8217;re afraid EA is in no hurry to release it"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Although Call of Duty has accustomed us to the annual release cadence, this is not the reality for all the great games in the genre. <a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/1517290\/Battlefield_2042\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Battlefield 2042 was released three years ago<\/a> and fans are clamoring for more. <strong>Especially after the disastrous launch and a series of updates that, far from fixing it, only deepened many of its problems<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/the-next-battlefield-will-be-a-dream-for-destruction-lovers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">This has led players to expect a new installment<\/a>, less focused on the game as a service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, it doesn&#8217;t seem like a new Battlefield will happen anytime soon. <strong>EA has recently confirmed that their intention is to have new releases of iconic franchises like Mass Effect, Star Wars, and also Battlefield, starting from 2025<\/strong>. So we will still have to wait for this to happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Battlefield 2042 Official Gameplay Trailer\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WomAGoEh-Ss?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>What&#8217;s worse, Battlefield 2042 seems to have had a lackluster 2023 by any possible metric. <strong>In recent months, it has had record-breaking revenue, earning over one billion nine hundred million dollars in profits during the second quarter of 2023, among all of EA&#8217;s service games<\/strong>. An improvement over the predicted one billion eight hundred million, partly thanks to Battlefield&#8217;s good performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s why Battlefield won&#8217;t see a new installment anytime soon.
