This is the case with Krafton and ‘Subnautica 2’: a few days ago, a slide from a presentation was leaked<\/strong> showing that it would be another service to religiously pay for every so often, and the reaction has been such that the clarification has been excellent.<\/p>\n\n\n

Service? No no, you read it wrong<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Unknown Worlds, the game developer distributed by Krafton, wanted to make it clear today that ‘Subnautica 2’ goes -paradoxically- against the current trend: you put it, you play it, and that’s it. “There are no season passes. There are no battle passes. There are no subscriptions”<\/strong><\/em>, they said in a lengthy statement that preceded the removal of that slide in the presentation. However, it is likely that the furious reaction will not harm them, because, as they promise, the early access will not even be released until 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Regarding the ‘game as a service’, we simply plan to continuously update the game for many years, as we did with the previous two ‘Subnautica’. Think of our Early Access<\/a> update model<\/strong>, expanded”<\/em>. And, if you pay attention to market trends, you will see how soon a good number of games will take a different path unless they are already very developed and there is no turning back. In a model where six can succeed, releasing a thousand games is definitely suicide.<\/p>\n\n\n
