Although we don’t have the data yet, experts are clear that last night’s NFL final between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers<\/strong> could have been the second most-watched program in the history of the United States.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n

Of the 25 most-watched television programs in the history of the United States, there are 18 Super Bowls on the list<\/strong>. This includes last year’s game between the Chiefs and the Eagles, which, in addition to holding the audience crown for the competition, is also the second most-watched television program in history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only program that surpasses it? The arrival of Apollo 11 to the Moon in 1969<\/strong>, which was seen by more than 150 million people<\/strong>. So far, no other program has even come close to that record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the Super Bowl a week away, a startling factoid:
"According to Nielsen data, among 2023\u2019s 100 most-watched TV programs, 93 were NFL games, with the Super Bowl\u2019s 115.1 million viewers topping the list."
