We have had a very eventful week in regards to video games. Many speculations about what the future of Microsoft would be. At least in regards to video games<\/a>. Because Xbox, although it didn’t seem like it was going anywhere, due to several recent leaks, it seemed like they could make the leap to become a third party, publishing games for other platforms and leaving their own behind<\/strong>. Something that Phil Spencer, CEO of Xbox, has come out to clarify in the Xbox Business on February 15th. Leaving us with some very interesting insights about the future of the company.<\/p>\n\n\n

The most important news is that Xbox is not going to change its first-party policy. They are only going to loosen it up a bit. This means that they are going to release four titles on other platforms, such as Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 5, of which they have clarified that two are games that will benefit from reaching a larger audience and the other two that can grow their communities<\/strong>. Although they have not clarified which games these are, although it is easy to guess which ones, they wanted to clarify that they are not Starfield or Indiana Jones. These two games will remain exclusive and, at least for now, only the four games in the pipeline will appear on other platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This leads to another big question mark. Game Pass and its situation. Phil Spencer has clarified that Game Pass will not be available on other platforms and will remain exclusive to the Xbox ecosystem. In this regard, he emphasized that all first-party games will continue to be released on Game Pass on day one and, in fact, Activision Blizzard games will be gradually integrated into the service starting next month<\/strong>. The first of them being Diablo 4, which will be released on March 28th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
