Windows 10 is gradually shutting down<\/strong>, and the end of version 21H2 of this operating system is closer than ever. In fact, there are less than 3 months left for support for this version 21H2 to end<\/strong>, as these updates will unilaterally end on June 11, 2024<\/strong>. Thus, Windows 10 will close another stage towards its final closure<\/strong> (for free) in October 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As it is evident, the 21H2 version of Windows 10 is not the most recent<\/strong> of this operating system, so those who have delayed this update should not have, in most cases, any problem to receive the 22H2 version<\/strong>, which is the latest that Windows 10 has received and will receive.<\/p>\n\n\n

However, despite this, Microsoft continues with its plans<\/a>, and that is why on June 11th<\/strong> the penultimate version of Windows 10, 21H2, will no longer have active support<\/strong> from the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alternatives to Windows 10<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The end of Windows 10<\/a>, for better or for worse, is getting closer and that is something that concerns the majority of Internet users worldwide<\/strong>, since Windows 10 is still the most used operating system, doubling the number of users compared to Windows 11, despite the fact that this version is more modern and has more features<\/strong>. Therefore, sooner or later, Windows 10 users will be forced to make a decision<\/a>: what to do with their operating system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One option is more than evident: stick with the Windows 10 system<\/a> (in its 22H2 version, of course) until its free support expires in October 2025<\/strong> and then subscribe to the paid security updates that will be available until 2028. Another option is to update the necessary software or hardware to have Windows 11, or, if you don’t want this system or pay for updates, switch to Linux open-source software<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n
