Windows 11 and Windows 10 users are encountering an unexpected surprise: the Mail and Calendar update, which is now becoming Outlook<\/strong>. This update started rolling out in early March and is already reaching most users.<\/p>\n\n\n

Luckily, if you don’t feel like changing at the moment, you still have time. When you open both programs, an informative window will appear giving you two options<\/strong>: use the new Outlook or continue using the usual versions. Keep in mind that this is temporary<\/strong> and sooner or later, you will be required to use Outlook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the change also comes with an unexpected addition: ads<\/strong>, at least if you’re not subscribed to Microsoft 365. To put it in context, the old Mail app did not have any type of advertising<\/strong>. On the other hand, Outlook Classic<\/strong> users will not be forced to switch to the new Outlook. According to Windows Latest<\/a>, Microsoft plans to continue supporting it until 2029<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n
