Microsoft<\/strong> has today appointed Pavan Davuluri<\/strong> as the new head of Windows<\/strong> and Surface<\/strong>. Davuluri, who joined Microsoft in 2001 and has been a corporate vice president for almost three years, takes on additional responsibilities after Panos Panay<\/strong> left for Amazon<\/strong> last fall.<\/p>\n\n\n

While Davuluri took over the Surface devices<\/a>, Mikhail Parakhin<\/strong> led a new team focused on Windows and web experiences. Now, both Windows and Surface will be Davuluri’s responsibility, as Parakhin “has decided to explore new roles”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The website The Verge<\/a><\/strong> has gained access to an internal memorandum from Rajesh Jha<\/strong>, head of experiences and devices at Microsoft, outlining the new organization of Windows. Microsoft is once again bringing together its Windows and devices teams: “This will allow us to take a holistic approach to creating silicon, systems, experiences, and devices that span Windows client and the cloud for this AI era,” explains Jha.<\/p>\n\n\n

Pavan Davuluri is now the head of the Windows and Surface team at Microsoft<\/a>, under the direct orders of Rajesh Jha. Davuluri has worked at Microsoft for over 23 years<\/strong> and was heavily involved in the company’s work with Qualcomm<\/strong> and AMD<\/strong> to create custom processors for Surface.<\/p>\n\n\n
