Awarding prizes in nineteen different categories, they have an advantage over all other awards: they reward games from the previous year. This allows for a better perspective than other awards that are given in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year&#8217;s big winner, however, had already been the winner throughout 2023. Because <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/is-it-possible-to-continue-discovering-secrets-in-baldurs-gate-3-after-400-hours-yes-according-to-this-reddit-user\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Baldur&#8217;s Gate 3<\/a> has taken home five different awards. <strong>Winning the award for best game, best music, best narrative, and the audience award, it basically takes the two main awards, as well as two of the three design awards<\/strong>. And in addition, Andrew Wincott, who plays Raphael in the game, won the award for best supporting actor. Thus, Baldur&#8217;s Gate 3 emerges as the big winner not only of the BAFTA, but also of the video games of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Baldur&#039;s Gate 3: Deluxe Edition - Official Trailer | Game Awards 2023\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dHXi4aAILRc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the gala was not only endless Baldur&#8217;s Gate 3. <strong>Dave The Diver won the award for best game design, the extraordinary Venba won the best game debut<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/these-are-the-best-video-games-of-2023-that-you-have-overlooked\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">and the fascinating Viewfinder<\/a> won both the award for best British game and the award for new intellectual property. Thus highlighting the effort of games outside the AAA sphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of this should not come as a surprise as Baldur&#8217;s Gate 3 has been sweeping all the awards in 2023. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/the-best-game-of-the-year-award-is-for-all-the-winners-of-the-game-awards-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Declared game of the year by the Game Awards<\/a> and the Steam Awards, <strong>it has also been chosen as game of the year in numerous gaming publications<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/charts\/mostplayed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">All this while sitting at number 24 of the most played games<\/a>, as of April 12, 2024, with 81,482 simultaneous players.
