Microsoft<\/strong>, the company behind the service with the same name, Microsoft 365, is considering changing the default format for pasting text into Word documents<\/strong>, something that often ends up causing formatting issues with white spaces that are often hard to find. For now, this feature will be tested by internal 365 users<\/strong>, but it could soon be available to all users as well.<\/p>\n\n\n

It’s a reality: almost everyone has experienced at some point that, when copying text into a document<\/strong>, the formatting doesn’t homogenize and words appear with different font, size, and even line spacing, a nightmare for lovers of clean and organized structures<\/strong>. Therefore, if Microsoft defaults to changing the formatting of texts to match the destination document, it’s more than certain that many users will be happy about it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Testing the new format for insiders<\/h2>\n\n\n

As Microsoft explains<\/a> in their blog for 365 insiders, they are testing a new default setting<\/strong> in Word that will make pasted content in the document adopt the same format as the file, instead of each copied text retaining the format of its original document<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Obviously, those who prefer the default classic option<\/strong>, in which copied texts will retain their original formatting, will be able to enable it again in Word settings<\/strong>, where, in advanced settings, there are different paste options depending on the source of the copied text.<\/p>\n\n\n
