Few games are as beloved as Doom. In addition to practically inventing FPS and bringing video games into 3D in a way that was previously unthinkable, it has been one of the games that has had the most influence in the industry<\/strong>. Something they have managed to repeat in Doom (2015) and in Doom Eternal<\/a>. That’s why the possibility of a new Doom is always received with interest. And it seems that it is something we could have in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, a project named IDKFA has been registered in the US<\/a>, a well-known codename for the Doom game series. All of this adds up to Bethesda’s registration of a new Doom game in January<\/a>. Additionally, last year, in the documents presented during the lawsuit between Activision Blizzard and the FTC, a game named Doom: Year Zero was mentioned to be released in 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

To round out the matter, Tom Warren, journalist from The Verge, hinted last week<\/a> that the announcement of a new Doom would come at the June Xbox event<\/strong>. Something that would fit with all the information we have so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although we don’t have information about who is developing the game, it is most likely being done by id Software, the studio that created the franchise in the first place. So, if it is finally confirmed, we will still have to wait a month to see the game materialize<\/strong>. To approach the Microsoft event with a Doom on the horizon, even with everything that has happened during the past week, gives us some hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
