There was a lot of anticipation to see what Paradox Interactive<\/strong> had in store for us with Life by You<\/strong>, the social simulator they were developing to rival The Sims. However, we are going to stay, precisely, with that “a lot of anticipation”, as the company has announced that the development has been canceled<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Announced in 2023, the game was designed to allow loading entire environments in real time and without loading screens, something very common in The Sims. However, the studio considered that they had quite a few problems<\/strong>, many of them difficult to solve and that would not be fixed with just more development time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A few weeks ago, we decided to postpone the Early Access launch to reevaluate Life by You, as we still believed that the game had issues in some key areas<\/strong>“, says Mattias Lilja<\/a>, CEO of the company. “Although having extra time was an option, after taking a pause, we had a broader vision of the game, and it became clear to us that the path led to a release where we didn’t feel confident and that was too long and uncertain<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no doubt that, with this decision, the studio is being very honest with their game, as it means canceling it completely. Such a shame…<\/p>\n\n\n
