This chip implies a significant leap in capabilities compared to previous generations – in line with what we have already seen with the A17 – especially in terms of artificial intelligence. Sufficient power can be interpreted as Apple Intelligence reaching this device.

In addition, the device would operate under a variant of the tvOS software, the same system that powers the HomePod, which is consistent with what we believe to know about the development of a specific operating system for the home: homeOS. There are no specific details about the features or design of the new “HomeAccessory,” previous rumors and leaks suggest the possibility of it including a screen, thus increasing the interactivity of the device.

The discovered code goes further, however, as references to two unreleased models of Apple TV have also been identified, which could indicate a device refresh in 2024.

However, expectations are high for the launch event of the iPhones this fall. The ideal scenario for the arrival of iOS 18 and for Apple to surprise us with a device in its own category. We will see what they have prepared for us.

We have known for some time that Apple is working on some kind of home automation device.
