The announcement that in ‘Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ we would control Yasuke, a black samurai, continues to make thousands of people around the world pull their hair out. How is it possible that in a saga like Assassin’s Creed, where real history has never mattered in the slightest, they are not faithful to real history? What an outrage! And of course, the complaints have reached the Japanese government in the end.<\/strong> Their response will not surprise you.<\/p>\n\n\n

I don’t know about Yasuke<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Everything started in 2013, when Satoshi Hamada, a conservative representative of the NHK party, formally requested the Japanese government study the new Assassin’s Creed, and more specifically, the issues arising from its historical inaccuracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Yoko Kamiyama, responded quickly as expected, stating that this is not their problem and that what is expected from a game is simply not to violate ‘public order and morality.’ In fact, she believes that this is the only motivation the government would have to intervene. That’s a splash of water to the face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
