Daytona USA is one of the most memorable games of the 90s, and for good reason: its arcade machine stood out on its own, the game was always fun and exciting, and it was always tempting to continuously insert coins. In 1993 and 1994, it broke all the molds, surpassed its direct rival (Ridge Racer), and became the title to beat for racing simulators. The curious thing is that thirty years later, one of these arcade machines is making news again… for a reason far removed from its fun gameplay.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Like a motorcycle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We head to Australia, where the police have arrested a member of a motorcycle gang, the Rebels, who was found with an extendable baton and $4000 in cash on the passenger seat. This was enough to obtain a search warrant to enter his house and business premises in search of something else. And they certainly found it: among various arcade machines, one of them, Daytona USA, concealed $400,000 and a Colt revolver inside<\/strong>, which was possibly not accidentally left behind by anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a curious place to keep so much money, because the machine itself already costs about $12,000 in the market<\/strong>, and that’s when it was literally everywhere. The police, on the other hand, assure that the gang has been bothering the citizens of Perth for a long time and that taking away their firearms will make the community safer. Sadly, they haven’t said anything about how good Daytona USA is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
