According to Ellison, keeping the population safe will require millions of cameras to spy on our every move. According to Business Insider, the current CTO of Oracle described a future where cameras and drones would be necessary to ensure that both the police and citizens could not break the law. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The billionaire predicted that AI would be vital<\/strong> for analyzing all the visual information collected by security cameras and others. “Citizens will behave in the best possible way because we are constantly recording and reporting everything that happens<\/strong>.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As expected, behind this effort to preserve the safety of citizens lies none other than money<\/strong>. Currently, Oracle is collaborating with NVIDIA to deploy large AI infrastructures to companies and governments. During the Q&A session with investors, Ellison recounted that during a dinner with Elon Musk and Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, both Musk and he “begged” Huang for more GPUs: “Please, take our money… we need you to take more of our money<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, this hypothetical future makes us question to what extent we are willing to give up our privacy<\/strong>. A great example of this is China and its Sharp Eyes program. This technology collected information on Chinese citizens and all their activity thanks to a system of millions of surveillance cameras<\/strong> spread throughout the country. <\/p>\n\n\n
