iOS 18 is here. The update that we saw presented a few months ago at WWDC 2024 has arrived on our iPhones with a very long list of new features. However, some new features have not yet arrived. Although iOS 18 is already available, some of the most anticipated features will not be present until future updates. Let’s review the main new features that will arrive starting from iOS 18.1 and in future versions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Apple Intelligence: The Big Absentee of iOS 18.0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Without a doubt, one of the most notable features of iOS 18 is the arrival of Apple Intelligence, a suite of artificial intelligence functions that completely changes the way we interact with our devices. The first features of Apple Intelligence, however, will not be available until the arrival of iOS 18.1, scheduled for next month<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, since Siri now relies on Apple Intelligence, we will have to wait for iOS 18.1 for its redesign and new features. Features such as a very substantial improvement in the ability to understand requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently, thinking about iOS 18.4, which we should see in the spring of 2025, Siri will evolve even further, integrating features such as the generation of actions within apps and between apps, as well as a much more advanced contextual awareness system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mail, Genmoji, Home, and Better iPhone Mirroring<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Email is an essential tool for communication, and with iOS 18, major changes are expected in the Mail app<\/strong>, although they are not available in version 18.0. Starting from iOS 18.1, we will have AI-generated automatic summaries, priority messages, and the Smart Reply feature to offer quick responses based on the context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December, with iOS 18.2, these features will expand to\u00a0automatically classify<\/strong><\/span> emails into categories such as Transactions, Promotions, and Updates<\/strong>. Additionally, improvements will be implemented to group emails from the same sender and highlight unread messages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will also have to wait a little longer for the new genmojis<\/strong>, which will arrive in December with iOS 18.2. With them, we will be able to write what we want to represent, and Apple Intelligence will generate the emoji for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Home app, we await the arrival of support for vacuum robots and monitoring electrical consumption. Meanwhile, the Drag and Drop feature in iPhone Mirroring will also require a bit more patience.<\/p>\n\n\n
